You know an old story about a wolf and seven little kids.
Now the play begins!
·
Mother
Goat has a jug or a milk can in her hand. She wants to go to the market.
All
her kids are around her.
Mother Goat. Now, my dear children, I must go to
the market and get some milk
for you. You must sit still. You must not let
anybody come in. Lock the door and — good-bye! (Kisses them and goes away.)
Seven Kids. Good-bye, good-bye! Come back soon!
Storyteller. Look! There is a big bad Wolf!
(The Wolf comes up to the Goat’s
house.) He is at the door.
Wolf (in
a loud, rough voice). Open the door! It’s me, your
mother I have some milk for you!
Seven Kids. No, no, you are not our mother!
Kid 1. Our mother’s voice is soft!
Kid 2. Our mother’s voice is sweet!
Kid 3. We must not open the door to anybody!
Wolf. You silly kids! (Goes away.)
Storyteller. And the Wolf goes and drinks some
hot milk with a lot of butter in it.
(The Wolf is in the background with a jug of
milk in his hand.) Now his voice is soft, and he will go up to the Goat’s
house again.
Wolf (in a soft voice). Open
the door, my dear children! It’s me, your mother!
I have some sweets for you!
Seven Kids. No, no, you are not our mother.
Kid 5. Your voice is soft, but it is not mother’s!
Wolf. But don’t you want these nice sweets!
Kid 2. We don’t want any sweets from you!
Wolf. And I have some ice cream for you!
Kid 3. We don’t want any ice cream from you!
W о 1 f. I
have a lot of toys for you!
Kid 4. We don’t want any toys!
Wolf. Open the door or I shall break it!
Kid 5. We are not afraid of you, you big bad
Wolf! (The Wolf goes sway.)
Storyteller. The Wolf isn’t here now. He wants to
find a very big stick.
He wants to break the door.
Kid 1. We are not afraid of the big bad Wolf. But we
must fight him, if he comes back. (To
Kids 2, 3, 4 and 5.) You, and you, and you two, come and get big
stick.
(To Kids 6 and 7.) And
you two, take the pans and big spoons and...
(whispers something to them. They nod.) stand behind the
armchair.
(They go to the armchair in the background.)
Storyteller. Do you hear? That is the Wolf again!
The Wolf comes up to the door.
Wolf. Do you give up?
Seven Kids. No, no!
Wolf. Then I will break the door!
Seven К i d s. We are not afraid of you, big
bad Wolf!
Wolf. Do you give up? One!
Seven Kids. No, no!
Wolf. Do you give up? Two!
Seven Kids. No, no!
Wolf. Do you give up? Three!
Seven Kids. No, no!
Storyteller. Bang! The Wolf breaks the door!
The Wolf rushes into the room. The fight begins. Kids 4 and 5 fall down.
Kid 1 takes a trumpet and blows it. Kids 6 and 7 jump up from behind the
armchair and make an awful noise with their pans and spoons. The Wolf runs
away.
Mother Goat. Oh, what’s the matter? What does all
this mean?
Kid 1. Everything’s all right, mother.
Kid 2. The Wolf wanted to eat us up!
Kid 3. But it is not so easy to eat us up!
Kid 4. Mother, I am hurt!
Kid 5. And so am I!
They all come closer to their mother, she kisses them.
Mother Goat. Oh, my dear brave children! It’s
very good that you are not afraid of the Wolf. There are many wolves in the
world, but if we fight all together, we shall win!

I'm here baby! It's time to begin our lesson. Let's begin, Your Majesty. Repeat
the rules of writing.

Oh, really it's all so boring. Every time the same thing: learn, learn,
learn ...
Professor: Your Majesty, if you want to be a
Queen, you must learn!
Princess: Learn,
learn, learn ... Every time learn and learn... I don’t want to learn! I will
make an order now, and I will execute everybody!
Professor: Excuse me, Your Majesty, but why?
Princess: Because
I am angry again! You teach me all the time, I'm tired. Okay, I'll do one
exercise, and then I want to have dinner! Well, what is it?
Professor (dictates): Ok.

To us is flying!"

Jim: My! That's a beautiful stone, I tell you! But Master
Tom, I'm afraid of Old Missis…
Tom: And besides, if you agree, I'll show you my sore toe.
Aunt Polly: You, bad boys! You think you can pull me round your finger! Jim,
rush to the well
Ben: Hi-hi!
Here you are!
Ben: Hello, old chap, you got to work, hey?
Tom: Why, it's you, Ben! I didn't notice.
Ben: Say - I'm going swimming, I am. Don't you wish you
could? But of course you'd rather WORK, wouldn't you? Of course you would!
Tom: What do you call work?
Ben: Why, isn't THAT work?
Tom: Well, maybe it is, and maybe it isn't. All I know, is
it suits Tom Sawyer.
Ben: Oh come on, you don't want to say you LIKE it?
Tom: Like it? Well, I don't see why I mustn’t like it. Does
a boy get a chance to whitewash a fence every day?
Ben: Say, Tom, let ME whitewash a little.
Tom: No - no - I think you can’t do it, Ben. You see, Aunt
Polly's very serious about this fence - right here in the street, you know.
Ben: No
- is that so? Oh come on, now – let me just try.
Tom: Ben,
I'd like to, really; but Aunt Polly… What if you whitewash and anything
happens?
Ben: Oh, I'll be very careful. Now let me try. Say - I'll
give you the core of my apple.
Tom: Well… No, Ben, I'm afraid…
Ben: I'll give you ALL of it!
Billy: What are you doing on such a nice sunny day? Are you working?
Ben: Working?
Ha-ha-ha! Does a boy have a chance to whitewash the fence every day?
Billy: Hmmm… Can I try?
Tom: I’m
sorry, Billy. My Aunt Polly is very serious about her fence… I can’t let
everyone whitewash it!
Billy: But what if I give you my kite?
Tom: Hmmm.
Ok. Then you are after Ben. Ben, give him the brush.
Joseph: Mmm, Tom! Hello! Can I whitewash
your fence?
Tom: Well,
I don’t know…
Joseph: What if I give you a dead rat and this orange peel?
Tom: A
dead rat? Not bad. Ben, it’s Joseph’s turn now.
Sid: Tom,
I hear you let the boys whitewash the fence. May I try to? I will give a white
marble.
Tom: A
white marble? No, Sid, that isn’t enough.
Sid: And
if I add a piece of blue bottle-glass?
Tom: That
will do. You can take the brush.
Girl: Mmm, Tom! Hello! Can I
whitewash your fence?
Tom: I’m
sorry, girls are not allowed!
Girl: How
many wonderful things you have, Tom! A dead rat, a piece of blue bottle-glass,
a kite, a white marble, an apple, four pieces of orange-peel… Wow!
Tom: I’m
sorry, Girl. I can’t talk to you any more. I must go to my Aunt Polly and show
her the fence.
